POWER DESIGN ENGINEER

DoD TopSecret clearance / Hybrid

Responsibilities:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a master’s degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.

Qualifications:
Be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing Undersea Communication systems. Power systems / Module design. Experience should include multiple power topology design experience from few watts to KW+ converters. Power System architecture and grounding. Transmission Line Effects in power systems.

• Expert level understanding of electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design

• Analog design and instrumentation (design and analysis)
• Power systems / Module design. Experience should include multiple power topology design experience from few watts to KW+ converters.
• Feedback / Control systems experience
• Power System architecture and grounding
• Isolated Switching Converters
• Transmission Line Effects in power systems
• EMI test and control methods (MIL-STD-461, FCC / IDE / VDE, etc.)
• Magnetics Design and High-Speed Design experience is desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting ability: must be able to diagnose a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components.
• The use of specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting
• Experience in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components
• Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience, as well as advanced proficiency in test, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics
• Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects.

• Flexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)
