Machinery Engineer

Responsibilities
 Lead the execution for technical elements of critical rotating equipment on assigned projects during basic and detailed design phases with responsibility for delivering committed work on-schedule and
on-budget
 Represent the Machinery Engineering function in cross-functional project meetings including P&ID
review, HAZOP, layout review and model review
 Prepare technical specification packages for enquiry/purchase for critical rotating equipment and
undertake technical evaluation, development, and technical risk assessment (including development
of associated risk mitigation plans) of supplier proposals
 Lead kick-off and design review meetings with suppliers of purchased critical rotating equipment
 Liaise with the other engineering functions and coordinate cross-functional review of supplier
drawings to facilitate integration of purchased equipment into the overall plant design compliant with
our client’s engineering standards, supplier requirements and the project scope requirements
 Witness inspections and testing of purchased critical rotating equipment
 Provide technical support throughout the project construction and commissioning phases retaining
overall technical responsibility for equipment until successful handover to the customer. Perform site
inspections to ensure installation in accordance with client and supplier requirements
 Provide feedback to continuously improve the competitiveness of internal global engineering
standards and work processes
 Work with the proposal team to develop a competitive basis for the rotating equipment scope and its
integration into the process cycle, represent the Machinery Engineering function in project planning
activities and prepare the functional execution strategy and manhours estimate aligned to the project
scope, overall execution strategy and schedule in Pre-FEED and PDP phases

The role will require domestic and international travel to suppliers and project sites. Approximately 20%
of your time may be spent travelling with some extended durations at project job sites to support
construction, commissioning, and start-up of rotating equipment.

The role will be primarily focused on air separation facilities, but may include gasification, ammonia,
hydrogen, and other process gases facilities.

Qualifications
 BS Degree in Rotating Machinery, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical/Mechanical Engineering
with a minimum 10 years working experience on centrifugal/ reciprocating/screw compressors, blowers, turbines, pumps, silencers, and cooling towers in Industrial Gases, Oil & Gas, or Petro Chemical Industry
 Experience in the selection and application of critical rotating equipment during proposal development including process cycle integration
 Should have experience in Industrial Gases and experience with cryogenic fluids. Experience in Gasification, O&G industry, Ammonia, CO2, and Methanol unit experience would be an be an
advantage
 Demonstrable experience in the specification, evaluation, engineering, and inspection of rotating
equipment for industries mentioned above in an EPC project environment. Experience in both specifying Engineer and Owner’s Engineer roles would be an advantage
 Experience in application of internationally recognized codes (API, ASME, TEMA, IEC etc.)
 Knowledge and experience in the fabrication of rotating equipment, and inspection, performance
testing, and evaluation procedures
 A dedicated and driven approach with a strong grasp of technical principals, excellent communication
skills, ability to build strong working relationships, attention to detail and desire to continually learn,
improve and contribute
 Leadership skills, with good communication, teamwork and influencing skills
 Must be able to read and write fluently in English and possess an acceptable level of English speaking
to be able to interact with people from US, Europe, and Asia
