Our client’s is seeking a Site Procurement Manager to join their Supply Chain leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for all procurement activities in support of Site requirements and drive common processes, tools, and governance across the entire team. You will also serve as the escalation point as well as collaborating with other sites to drive the best practices across the Operating Group. A critical component of this role will be translating goals / strategies into clear KPIs and critical actions to be taken by the procurement team including daily/weekly/monthly governance, and clear accountability throughout multiple levels of the team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline (ex: Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations) Master’s degree or additional relevant certificates are desirable, but not required. 7+ years progressive experience in Supply Chain; previous FAR/DFAR Procurement experience with 5 of these 7 years in a leadership position.
- Demonstrated success in leading a large organization / team; preferably in a Supply Chain role managing other managers.
- Leadership experience should include developing and motivating others to achieve strategic objectives, leading change, and managing ambiguity.
- Experience with US Government contractual and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAR/DFAR, REACH, AEO, Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements, Import/Export regulations, EAR, ITAR) for PO Placement, Contracting, and Proposal support
- Demonstrated experience in effectively managing and resolving escalations and maintaining positive relationships with both suppliers and customers.
- Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and experience with continuous improvement tools (ex: 5Y, 8D); Formal Six Sigma/Lean training is a plus
- Ability to develop and implement new procurement processes and tools deployed consistently across large cross functional teams.
- Strong business and financial acumen; understanding of the drivers/impacts of financial performance within and outside of the Supply Chain.
- Excellent communication abilities at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Willingness to travel (~10-15% of the time) to suppliers and/or other company sites.
- Ability to support different teams / sites across different time zones.
- Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of procurement managers (Product Line Leads).
- Ensuring the team monitors and evaluates supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and cost, and implements timely corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborating with production and planning teams to ensure optimal inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce carrying costs.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and government regulations throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Cultivating and maintaining strong working relationships and effective communication channels with suppliers.
- Developing strategic plans to achieve customer, employee, and business objectives by utilizing continuous improvement methodologies and leveraging tools such as A3 problem-solving.
- Establishing, communicating, and monitoring goals and metrics for the Procurement team to ensure accountability in achieving functional strategies and budget objectives.
- Supporting the development of standardized work, processes, and tools across the EA Site SC organization to optimize site performance.
- Assuming the role of a Subject Matter Expert and providing training and development opportunities for team members.
