Essential Duties
- Lead a team of professional accountants who provide general accounting and financial reporting services
- Liaise with business unit accounting leadership and support personnel
- Ensure controls are designed and operating effectively to address risk and maintain compliance with accounting policies
- Coordinate work during monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Manages monthly close activities including journal entry and account reconciliation review, quarterly and annual schedules, and financial analytics
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements
- Assist with prioritization of work and/or re-distribution when competing deadlines arise
- Create and/or updates process documentation including Sarbanes Oxley narrative documents
- Support internal, external and DCAA audits
- Ability to work extended hours
- Prepare ad-hoc reporting and assist with special projects to include financial system support, as requested.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related degree and twelve (12) years of related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Position requires the ability to obtain / maintain a DoD security clearance
- 3+ years of direct functional leadership experience
- 3+ years working in entity with GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a fast-paced close process with multiple, often competing, deadlines
- 1+ years of experience in a complex ERP environment
- 1+ years of experience with facilitating internal and external audits
Preferred Skills:
- CPA Certification preferred
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards a plus
- Experience in a Shared Service general accounting environment a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills enabling monitoring of key due dates and activities
- Experienced team builder
- Flexible planner in terms of daily activities with ability to adeptly react to changing requirements and priorities
- Ability to develop broad, cooperative relationships with numerous groups and individuals

Needs someone confident in accounting so that they can learn the system. Requirement for weekend and holiday work since we are accelerated closing calendars. Hybrid Role / Onsite 2X a week.
