Manufacturing Engineering Technical Lead – Small Parts Machining and Tool Design

As the primary Technical Lead of Manufacturing Engineering for the Small parts machining and tool design operations, you are responsible for overall project tracking, metric adherence, skills gap identification and resolution.  Strong coaching and mentoring team members is an important part of this opportunity, as well as, developing or improving and the execution there of of manufacturing processes, that exceed safety and quality expectations while lowering or adhering to cost and delivery goals is at the core of this role..

As a technical expert, you will support the process teams by helping to solve the most difficult problems associated with the manufacturing of parts. These problems may arise for any number of reasons such as tooling, machine tool, gauging, heat-treating, and plating. The solutions to these problems may require the process team solution alone or could result in contacting and working with other members of the Manufacturing Engineering department such as: Project or Design Engineers, Quality Assurance personnel, Inspectors, Product supervision, Purchasing, Product scheduling, Vendors etc.

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide input on job selections, job evaluations, performance appraisals, and training issues within the Manufacturing Engineering Department.
  • Promote the sharing of new concepts, ideas, and tooling between process teams, cells, functional manufacturing, departments, divisions, and campuses.
  • Promote a common goal to produce products in the most efficient, cost-effective, and timely manner across all disciplines by controlling non-recurring costs and schedules to meet objectives established in original estimates.

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree (ME or IE preferred) and 8 Years of Manufacturing Engineering Experience.
  • Manufacturing processing knowledge and experience.
  • CNC programming experience is preferred.
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
