Position Summary:
Associate Director/Sr. Manager, Accounting, who will report to the Corporate Controller. This position will be responsible for technical accounting research, memos and implementation of new accounting guidance and unusual transactions. This role will assist with quarterly and annual SEC filings, manage the corporate accounting close process, including review of monthly journal entries and reconciliations, as necessary.

Our Associate Director/Sr. Manager will interact with our CFO and other senior level executives in support of accounting, audit, and compliance matters. Additionally, this individual will provide cross-functional departmental support (financial & operational) in technical accounting and participate in cross-functional teams addressing organizationally impactful projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Technical accounting
  • Journalizing (debits/credits)
  • Creating financial statements
  • Reconciling account balances
  • SEC reporting
  • Evaluate and implement new technical accounting standards
  • Apply relevant guidance and draft accounting memos to support conclusions
  • Debt and equity accounting
  • Lease and sale leaseback accounting
  • Stock based compensation
  • Monthly review of senior accountant journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Monthly review of balance sheet flux analysis
  • Monthly recording of debt, sale-leaseback, and office/car lease transactions
  • Compliance filing management (provide updates for information returns and registered agent site review of upcoming filings)
  • Review of GAAP/SEC checklists, tie-out procedures performed by senior accountant, and various other quarterly tasks
Education and Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of related experience OR 8 years with a Master’s degree
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • SEC reporting experience
  • Big 4 experience (strongly preferred) Licensed CPA
  • Analytic ability to identify problems and arrive at practical solutions
  • Large ERP Software experience
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to multi-task, and is a team player
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Advanced Excel skills
