B-2 Cyber Security Engineering SME 

Job description

The Applicant shall provide IA and technical expertise for information systems, systems engineering, STE, legacy operating systems, laboratory equipment, and avionics systems/sub-systems-related modernization and sustainment programs supported in the B-2.

Essential Job Functions:

The Applicant shall be the IA security official responsible to support in coordinating and obtaining security approval for sanitization and secure handling procedures for avionics line replaceable units and STE driven by sustainment and modification programs.

The Applicant shall apply in-depth knowledge of various computer and electronic systems, from Windows and UNIX-flavored operating systems to avionics and test equipment hardware.

The Applicant shall advise and assist with implementation of DoDI 5205.11 and Department of Defense Manuals (DoDM) 5205.07, Volume 1-4 as well as JSIG regulations for SAP IA oversight and management of computer and avionics equipment.

The Applicant shall assist with IA security oversight and approval of modernization program equipment directly tied to software integration, operations and implementation schedules for new capabilities for the warfighter. All of these capabilities directly affect the maintenance and improvement of aircraft availability.

The Applicant shall support development and approval processes for PPPs, AT plans, ATO requests, and other milestone decision and design documentation reviews as required.

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics or science related to cybersecurity plus 15 years of experience or a Master’s degree plus 12 years is required.

Requires an active TS/SCI security clearance

Applicant should meet all prerequisites necessary to enable the Government to grant a DoDI 8570 baseline certification commensurate with the position description and tasking responsibilities.

Ground System and Communication System Engineer Hybrid

Essential Job Functions:

The applicant shall assist the Government to perform engineering program execution functions to include the development, test, deficiency, and modification assessments of division program systems (to include air vehicle, ground segment, payloads, and associated support equipment) with emphasis on the interoperability in the areas of network engineering, communications engineering, sensor engineering, ISR enterprise engineering and systems architecture engineering.

The applicant shall utilize knowledge of various technical areas of current network architectures (physical, link, transport, applications layers), of the Global Information Grid (GIG) and AFDCGS Wide Area Network (WAN) implementation designs, DoD Information Assurance (IA) requirements relative to networking, layered protection methods against cyber warfare, and knowledge of quality of service issues for data transport via long haul networks to ensure operability requirements are met for providing the required ISR enterprise data exchange.

The applicant shall use knowledge to create new systems architectures, interface specifications, interface testing, creating net-ready and net-centric capabilities, and generate DoD Architecture Framework products to ensure operability requirements are met for providing the required ISR enterprise data exchange.

The applicant shall review and analyze interoperability requirements and shall review, develop and evaluate resultant specifications and internal and external ICDs. The applicant shall support regular information exchanges between stakeholders and external users in the system architectures to resolve interoperability issues.

The applicant shall support system security certification and accreditation activities and airworthiness certification activities as they pertain to interoperability issues. The applicant shall plan and prepare contract documents and support the Government in weapon system contract related to new ground segment capabilities and air vehicle interfaces on ISR and SOF systems.

Required Skills:
Possess a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, or higher, in a professional Engineering discipline from an American Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited educational program and a minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in a relevant functional area with a minimum of 8 of those years working in the specialty task area for the DoD.

An adjudicated DoD Security clearance on the First Day of employment. Must have a Top Secret/SCI and NATO endorsements. Personnel at the Senior and Subject Matter Expert (SME) level shall possess the advanced knowledge, experience and recognized ability to be considered an expert in their technical/professional field, and possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and journeyman personnel within the technical/professional discipline.

B-52 Avionics Engineer

Job description

The applicant shall serve as an Avionics/Electrical Engineer with particular emphasis in Radar and Electronic Warfare for application to B-52 military operations.

Essential Job Functions:

The applicant shall support aircraft information management systems requirements, testing, certification, and spectrum management requirements, testing, and certification. The applicant shall use knowledge of Communication Navigation Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) requirements, policies, and regulations to assist in defining requirements, complete CNS/ATM compliance matrices, and support testing and certification of aircraft and supporting systems. The Contractor shall communicate with other engineering functionals including but not limited to structures, crew systems, EMI, reliability and maintainability, manufacturing, and system safety.

The applicant shall support the development and integration of platform software requirements to include mission planning.

Support information management assessment and authorization to include development of security controls, test approaches, and risk identification and mitigation to obtain an IATO or ATO.

Apply experience developing and managing the acquisition of platform modifications.

Assist in providing detailed analysis, evaluations and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues.

Develop development schedules, identify critical paths, develop integration plans, provide cost estimates, create staffing plans, facilitate team development, and develop risk mitigation plans.

Support the planning and execution of development and integration activities; working with systems, software, and hardware teams to coordinate schedules.

Lead design reviews, system demos, flight tests, element and system level verification activities, and system certification.

Execute integration and test activities, evaluate test results, investigate discrepancies, technically assess anomalies, and drive them to resolution.

Perform functional analysis, design trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

An ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus 15 years of experience, a Master’s Degree plus 8 years or a PhD plus 6 years of experience is required.

Active Top Secret security clearance.

At least 10 years systems engineering experience, including developing and managing the acquisition of avionics modifications including but not limited to avionics, software, computer architecture, communication, radar and EW systems.

Knowledge in avionics, software, computer, radar, EW, and communications engineering principles.

Experience developing, acquiring and managing platform IA, cybersecurity and AT provisions.

Communications/Navigation Engineer (on hold)

Candidate shall have knowledge of a wide range of Communication/Navigations professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services on rotary wing platforms.

Essential Job Functions:
Assist with providing avionics integration support and technical direction in the areas of: requirements generation, systems design and integration, development, modification, test, production, sustainment, deployment, operations, and divestiture as required in regards to CNS/ATM systems.

Provide CNI expertise and assist as a focal point and technical manager on navigation system developments. The applicant shall be required to work closely with USAF CNS/ATM agencies, including but not limited to AFLCMC/HBA ATS, to assist in the generation of performance matrices, verification methodologies, data collection and PA generation in order to certify required capabilities for civil airspace.

Providing navigation databases expertise and development technical management, to include (at minimum): World Wide Navigation Database, terrain avoidance databases, and loading/mission planning equipment. The applicant shall possess knowledge of the development, testing, and certification process as well as the external suppliers/agencies and products.

Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree w/15 years of experience OR Master’s degree w/12 years of experience is required. A minimum of 5 years working in the DoD. Active Secret Clearance required.

Possesses the advanced knowledge, experience and recognized ability to be considered an expert in their technical/professional field, possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and journeyman personnel within the technical/professional discipline.
