ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING & SEC REPORTING

Position Summary:
Associate Director/Sr. Manager, Accounting, who will report to the Corporate Controller. This position will be responsible for technical accounting research, memos and implementation of new accounting guidance and unusual transactions. This role will assist with quarterly and annual SEC filings, manage the corporate accounting close process, including review of monthly journal entries and reconciliations, as necessary.

Our Associate Director/Sr. Manager will interact with our CFO and other senior level executives in support of accounting, audit, and compliance matters. Additionally, this individual will provide cross-functional departmental support (financial & operational) in technical accounting and participate in cross-functional teams addressing organizationally impactful projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Technical accounting
  • Journalizing (debits/credits)
  • Creating financial statements
  • Reconciling account balances
  • SEC reporting
  • Evaluate and implement new technical accounting standards
  • Apply relevant guidance and draft accounting memos to support conclusions
  • Debt and equity accounting
  • Lease and sale leaseback accounting
  • Stock based compensation
  • Monthly review of senior accountant journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Monthly review of balance sheet flux analysis
  • Monthly recording of debt, sale-leaseback, and office/car lease transactions
  • Compliance filing management (provide updates for information returns and registered agent site review of upcoming filings)
  • Review of GAAP/SEC checklists, tie-out procedures performed by senior accountant, and various other quarterly tasks
Education and Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of related experience OR 8 years with a Master’s degree
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • SEC reporting experience
  • Big 4 experience (strongly preferred) Licensed CPA
  • Analytic ability to identify problems and arrive at practical solutions
  • Large ERP Software experience
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to multi-task, and is a team player
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Advanced Excel skills

COSTING MANAGER 

Who You Are:

A leader who will work side by side with the Sr. Director of Procurement, and lead a team of talented costing professional to achieve company goals and offer best in class costing procedures. This is a high visibility role and will be responsible for cost management to evaluate product designs, provide a framework to drive cost reduction, develop cost estimates which are used by cross functional departments in the design and development process, and manage the costing system that provides the product costing statistic to produce the financial reports.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide timely, competitive and reliable product cost estimates and economic information of products in support of the effective execution of design, development and manufacturing process.
  • Analyze product design to effect maximum utilization of materials, methods and processes in order to meet cost objectives and quality specifications.
  • Ability to Identify areas for cost reduction during design process to help teams meet cost targets.
  • Develop “should cost” estimates.
  • Develop cost control and improvement projects each year to partner with factories.
  • Responsible for maintaining a material cost library and tracking core commodity costs.
  • Communicates updates to management and other stakeholders regarding product costing activities.
  • Active participant in the annual budget setting process.
  • Evaluation of factories and their capabilities.

Qualification You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science or Applied Mathematics from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 7+ years working experience in product costing.
  • Thorough understanding of the product development and manufacturing processes; prior work experience inside manufacturing environment is an essential requirement. 
  • Merchandising knowledge or experience in the consumer product industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of financial and engineering economy concepts is a definite advantage.
  • Good presentation and communication skills in both written and spoken English

Travel: This position will eventually require domestic and international travel of up to 15%.

Project Executive (Electrical) 

As a Project Executive you will be responsible for assisting the Client Executive in managing the team by developing and maintaining healthcare client relationships.  A Project Executive must have demonstrated a high level of proficiency of managing large projects within one or more markets.  Has a strong focus on one or more markets and has established a reputation within our client’s internal team and with their clients’ as a SME. A Project Executive is someone that has developed a focus toward a market and achieved a high level of success in developing and maintaining relationships with desired clients.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Establish our client as the premiere healthcare engineering firm in assigned state/region.
  • Development and maintain client relationships via a seller-doer role.
  • Responsible for keeping healthcare project pipeline full, with a mixture of repeat work and new opportunities.
  • Work closely with our client’s design team to ensure product and client experience is of high quality.  Serve as Project Executive and at times Lead Electrical Engineer on large complex healthcare projects.
  • Work with Client Executive on strategies and business development opportunities to drive growth for the healthcare market.
  • Work with marketing to refine our client’s messaging for healthcare. Work with our client’s Visible Expert approach to become a Thought Leader in the region.

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Responsible for the financial success of projects that they manage or direct
  • Consistently managing client and project fees with a total aggregate value of approximately $2M
  • Responsible for bringing in new projects on a regular basis
  • Responsible for (directly or as a contributing team member) for new fees of approximately $1M on an annual basis
  • Assist Client Executive in collection of accounts receivable on projects for which the team is responsible.
  • Support the efforts of the Technical Operations Team to provide technical training and consistency across teams.
  • Assist with updating marketing database with the team’s leads and proposals.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to senior staff on client relations and project management.

Education and experience requirements are:

  • Minimum 5-10 years in healthcare design industry
  • A high level of proficiency of managing large complex healthcare projects in assigned state/region and with OSHPD
  • Proven history of bringing in new work and opportunities for their team
  • Ability to travel as deemed necessary (assume 30-40% travel)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient in time management, organization and planning prioritization
  • Ability to manage changing priorities, meet deadlines and adapt to a changing business environment in a self-directed way.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and licensed PE in assigned state.
  • Significant stock ownership representing, at a minimum, a clear, forward focused path to the Associate Principal level
