Substation Engineer-Renewables remote

 Job Summary:

Our client is a large multinational engineering firm for the power industry.seeking a highly skilled Substation Engineer with a strong background in renewables and generation side experience. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) AND experience from an EPC rather than a utility company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement substation projects with a focus on renewable energy generation and integration.
• Conduct detailed engineering analysis and calculations to ensure optimal performance and reliability of substations, including short circuit analysis, load flow studies, protection coordination studies, stability studies, and harmonic analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform equipment selection, layout design, and technical evaluations for substation components.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Provide technical support and guidance during construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Conduct site visits as necessary to assess project requirements and ensure proper implementation.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies and substation engineering practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in substation engineering in USA, specifically on the generation side, with a focus on substation engineering studies.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems and their integration with substations.
• Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools, such as ETAP, PSCAD, or MATLAB.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
